What is this career path like?

It’s our aim to enhance your early career development through diverse experiences that will put you on the path for a future HR leadership role. You’ll experience challenging job rotations, which will be complemented by formal learning, coaching and mentoring.

What will I learn?

You’ll gain broad exposure to HR in a diverse global organisation in the fast-moving pharmaceutical industry, learning the tools and techniques for managing and driving human resources. This will give you a solid foundation that will help you develop a successful future in HR.

We’ll give you a range of experience in the three core areas of our HR model (Global HR Operations, business-aligned HR leaders and a Centre of Excellence) and across different business areas such as Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Healthcare, Manufacturing and supporting functions. You will also have an opportunity to gain breadth outside of HR.

Throughout this career path, you’ll gain valuable leadership training that combines mentoring, classroom learning and on-the-job learning to equip you to become a leader of the future.

Our HR career path is available in the countries listed below. You will be based in your local country; there may also be opportunities to travel and work internationally.

What’s expected of me?

We’ll expect you to manage projects and prioritise a variety of tasks effectively. This means you’ll need to build working relationships with people at all levels of our organisation and learn to coach line leaders. In addition, you’ll research and analyse information and report your findings, so we can identify and understand trends, insights and facts. We’ll also look to you to help find creative solutions to new challenges. Not least, we want you to keep developing new skills and knowledge wherever you find the opportunity.

We want you to take full advantage of the rich variety of leadership training on offer, working with mentors and leaders to identify your career goals and develop your leadership skills.

What do I need to succeed?

Whatever your degree, you’ll need ambition, a passion for people and their development, and a proactive approach. We’re looking for clear, effective communicators who can quickly build a rapport with a wide range of people. It’s also important that you can adapt to change and keep focused when the pressure is on. While you’ll have the drive and confidence to trust your own judgement, you’ll also be a real team player who actively collaborates with others. In addition, you’ll need an analytical mind, a talent for multi-tasking and the ability to influence other people.
