Strategic Marketing (Vaccines)

What’s this area all about?

Our Commercial teams bring products to market that save lives, tackle chronic illnesses or address everyday healthcare issues. They put their commercial expertise at the service of our vaccine-development teams in areas such as commercial analysis, market research, R&D strategic planning and commercial launch of new vaccines worldwide. Our commercial activities also involve liaising with governments and regulatory and health authorities to ensure our vaccines reach the people who need them.

What is this career path like?

4 rotations

During this two-year training scheme, you’ll undertake four stretching rotations lasting six months in our Commercial department, including one rotation abroad. Development comes through challenging job rotations supported by formal learning and coaching.

You’ll have the chance to improve your strategic marketing skills in the fast-moving pharmaceutical industry while gaining valuable leadership training. This experience will equip you to become a leader of the future.

What will I learn?

This career path is tailored to enable you to develop your knowledge and experience while broadening your global business perspective. Over two years, you will work in brand management, global and / or local commercial activities, and take on a related role, for example market insight, commercial analysis or strategic pricing.

Where can I work?

Our Strategic Marketing & Market Development career path is based in Belgium. You will also be able to do one rotation abroad. As a truly global organisation, we offer you the opportunity to gain international experience both during your training and beyond.

What’s expected of me?

We’ll expect you to manage projects and prioritise a series of tasks effectively. You will research, source and analyse information and report your findings in order to identify and understand trends, insights and facts. You will need to build strong working relationships with a wide range of people at all levels of our organisation. Therefore, while you will have a self-motivated and proactive approach, you will also be a real team player who actively collaborates with others. You will need an analytical mind, a talent for multi-tasking and the ability to adapt to change and keep focused under pressure. We will also want you to take full advantage of the wide range of leadership training that we provide.

What do I need to succeed?

We are looking for graduates with a Master’s degree in Finance, Strategy or Marketing. An additional Master’s degree or a scientific background would be an asset, as will an interest in healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry. Whatever your degree, you’ll show a strong interest in aligning marketing initiatives to business strategies and an ability to build relationships with suppliers, retailers and consumers. You’ll be able to combine strategic thinking with attention to detail and will demonstrate strong project management skills. Strong analytical and intercultural skills are also required.

You’ll need to be fluent in English and have a maximum of two years’ professional experience.
